Being fully independent means, we can purchase hearing aids from all manufacturers to find the right solution for our clients, as unlike other hearing aid providers, we are not owned by a hearing aid company.

What is involved in the hearing aid fitting appointment?

We will check the fit of your hearing aids, measure the output and complete fine tuning. This will include verification to check your hearing aids are providing the correct amplification. Managing your hearing aids is also an essential part of this appointment which involves management, care and maintenance of your hearing aids. We can also connect your new hearing aids if they have a Bluetooth connectivity function to your mobile phone.

This appointment runs for approximately one hour; we also recommend bringing a support person, such as a family member, as there is a lot of information to take in and it is always good to have an extra set of ears.

After the fitting appointment.

We will see you for follow-up appointments to ensure you feel confident with your device/s. You may trial the hearing aids for up to 60 days.

We offer and recommend regular reviews of your hearing and hearing aids to ensure your hearing aids continue to meet your needs. We are also able to assist with onsite minor repairs and advise when required.

How Long Does It Take to Get Used to Hearing Aids?

Getting used to hearing aids is a process that varies from person to person, depending on factors like the severity of hearing loss, the type of hearing aids, and individual adaptation. On average, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months to fully adjust.

Tips to Help You Adjust:

  1. Wear Them Regularly: Start by wearing your hearing aids for a few hours each day, gradually increasing the duration as you become more comfortable.
  2. Practice Listening: Spend time in different listening environments to practice distinguishing sounds. Engage in conversations and listen to various types of audio signals, such as music and television.
  3. Be Patient: Give yourself time to adapt. It’s normal for it to take a few months to get used to new sounds and the feel of the hearing aids.
  4. Follow-Up Visits: Keep your follow-up appointments with your clinician. They can make necessary adjustments to improve comfort and sound quality.
  5. Ask for Support: Don’t hesitate to ask your audiologist for advice and support during the adjustment period. They can provide helpful tips and resources to ease the transition.

Remember, the adjustment period is different for everyone. Staying patient and committed to wearing your hearing aids will help you get the most out of your new hearing experience.
